I think the scientific name of this fly is very interesting. Because most of you might not be very familiar with the Western culture, it might be intersting for you to know that beelzebul (or more commonly beelzebub) is a name of a demon, which was depicted earlier as a flying two-horned devil. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beelzebub This drawing must have inspired the descriptor of this species.
